The Harry J. Graham Award

In 1961 the association's Board of Directors established the Harry J. Graham award to "Keep alive the memory of one whose faithful and untiring service contributed so much to the maintenance of high ethical standards and to publicly recognize others who have aided in these objectives." By giving the award only to those who are most deserving and only in years when someone of the highest caliber is agreed upon, it is the intent of the award to honor Harry J. Graham who served as the Association's Executive Secretary for 36 years. Candidates are selected annually by a committee of the five most recent former association presidents who are still active in purchasing work.

Award Committee
The five most recent former presidents of the New England Agents Association who are still active in purchasing work will serve as the Award Committee. Their selection is final.

Presentation of the Award
It is not necessary that an award be made each year but if the Committee decides that an award should be made, it will be presented at the annual meeting by a former president who has been selected by the award committee. In the presentation of the award, it is expected that the presentation address will include some background history of the award recipient.

Termination of the Selections
It is the intention of the Meritorious Award Committee that the award be made on the basis of uncommon and personal distinction in service beyond that normal to the holding of association office; and that should any automatic selection of awardees seem to be developing, in the opinion of the board of directors, that this award be discontinued by vote of the board of directors.
